George Ohr is one of our favorite potters. He was an eccentric artist who was so ahead of his time he couldn’t sell a pot. But not for trying! His pottery studio in Biloxi Mississippi in the late 1800s was covered with signs proclaiming him the “World’s Greatest Potter” and directing tourists to get a piece of history before he became famous. One of his many quotes was “the potter said Un2 clay, “Be, ware” and it was.” Which, if you are a potter, is pretty funny. Gift one to the pottery buff in your life.
